Fire Extinguished on Oil Tanker Following Alleged Iranian Attack Near Dubai

Emergency responders have successfully put out a blaze on an oil tanker that Kuwaiti officials claim was targeted in an Iranian assault near Dubai waters.

The vessel, identified as the Al Salmi, was moored and carrying a full cargo of two million barrels of crude oil from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia when it suffered what Dubai authorities characterized as a drone strike.

The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation has reported that all 24 crew members aboard the tanker remain safe and have sustained no injuries during the incident.

The attack represents a significant escalation in regional tensions, with the targeted vessel carrying substantial oil cargo through one of the world’s most critical shipping lanes. The incident occurred while the tanker was in a vulnerable position, fully loaded with crude oil destined for international markets.

Local emergency services responded quickly to contain the fire and prevent what could have been a major environmental disaster. The swift extinguishing of the flames helped avoid potential catastrophic damage to both the vessel and surrounding waters.

The safety of the crew has been the primary concern throughout the emergency response, with all personnel now confirmed to be unharmed despite the severity of the attack on their vessel.
